Guys, we’ve got an exciting week ahead: the 30-day call is just around the corner! We’re getting ready to start intensively packing everything up and getting ready to sign on the dotted line, and we couldn’t be happier! (Okay, we could be happier–we’d be happier if we didn’t have to pack everything!)
With that said, there are a few updates that will be happening this week that we won’t be able to share with you right away, so we wanted you to be aware since the blog posts will take a little different turn. Don’t worry– we’ll share our next house updates as soon as we can, but there are certain aspects we can’t be involved with that will prevent us from sharing until there’s quite a bit more progress. Wondering what those steps are? Read on!
Our trim, walls, and accent paint start on Tuesday and we’re pumped! We shared a sneak peek of the colors we’re using, but it’s not safe (or helpful) for us to be around while our team is painting, so we’ve got to sit out for a couple days while they get everything painted. Can’t wait to see it all completed, because paint transforms a space so quickly! Stay tuned on social media for those updates in real-time when I can sneak over to share them with you!
We ordered extra concrete for our dumpsters to sit on and that custom work starts this morning. As y’all know, we can’t be around when the concrete is poured or while it sets, so we’ll have to wait to share this with you, too! What you need to know for now is that the unpredictable and rainy weather that muddies everything up won’t be able to muddy our dumpsters when we get them, so that’s good! No trails of red dirt up the driveway each week!
Guys, this is one of the features of the house we’re looking forward to most. The beams will be installed on the front porch soon and the corbels (the little white triangles of wood in the dormer and the front façade of the house) will be swapped for natural cedar ones this week or next, and that construction is quite a process. We’re really excited for this upgrade to the house, because it will allow us some extra privacy and curb appeal and it will help give us the Nantucket look we’re after!
Can’t. Wait. For. This. Update. Seriously, the day we see the backsplash is going to be a joyous day! We’re pumped to share that with you, but it’ll be a bit before we can — the paint will have to be completed and approved before the backsplash can get started, but trust me, it’s going to be so worth it!
The same story applies for the fireplace stone! We chose an option that will be set like the backsplash, and it’s going to be lovely, but it’s going to take a little time to get going! Can’t wait to share it with you!
Stay tuned for some fun posts this week! Happy Monday!
