FALL DECOR ESSENTIALS

Y’all are probably saturated with house updates right now, so I thought I’d sprinkle in a bit of something we can’t get enough of around here: fall. Crisp weather, football season, pumpkin flavoring in everything from now till Christmas — you just can’t beat it!

So, as we’re quickly approaching our fall move into our new home, I thought I’d share some things I’m crushing on for this fall in our house!

COPPER

I’ve been crushing on copper lately and hunting for unique items to add to my silver-and-gray collection for fall, and my favorite haunts (Target, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods, At Home) have not disappointed in this area. A simple way I’m looking forward to using copper in our new house this fall is through our bar cart; it’s gold, which already stands out from the rest of the items in our house, and we use it for just about everything, so we won’t need a lot of copper to make an impact. I love adding something simple like a champagne bucket, a candle holder like the one above, or even just some straws to warm things up for the cooler weather.

LUSH TEXTILES

If fall doesn’t make you want to get cozy on the couch with your favorite drink, I don’t know what will! And cozy always involves a super soft and warm blanket like the one above. I have a navy version of this that stays draped over a chair so I can get to it at all times throughout the year, but it moves from my bedroom to my couch in the fall so I can use it all the time. Add a few of these to any chair, couch, or pouf and you’ll be surprised at the awesome impact for just a little investment. Plus, they come in a ton of colors if white isn’t your thing!

JEWEL TONES

Jewel tones are essential for fall in our house because they help drastically change it from our spring and summer pastels into a rich fall palette. I love using pillows to switch things up quickly, easily, and with little financial investment, but throws, rugs, and even tea towels and table runners can do the trick. I’m keeping my eyes on this gorgeous peacock blue to complement our eggplant, orange, and gold palette for fall in our new house.

MULTIPURPOSE ITEMS

Trays, vases, glasses, cloth napkins, stools, poufs, bar carts–they all have something in common: they’re multipurpose. One day, we use our bar cart as a beverage cart; the next day it’s a dessert trolley. We’re known for using products in unconventional ways (shot glasses make awesome bud vases, FYI), and this fall, I’m looking forward to finding some pieces that we can use for entertaining and our daily functions alike (and bonus points if these items work through all seasons).

CANDLES

I’m known for my love of candles, and fall is a time when I really crank things up at home. I love pumpkin and berry fragrances for the cooler temps and I especially look forward to mixing heights, fragrances, colors, and wicks in order to create a custom fragrance for our home and add variety to the simplest items. Something I’m especially craving for our new house: Bath and Body Works’ Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin candles. They’re long-lasting, burn smoothly, smell incredible (lit and unlit), and provide a gorgeous glow that transitions us smoothly from Labor Day to Christmas.

LOTS AND LOTS OF PUMPKINS

Sure, I have a plethora of faux-pumpkins that will grace our coffee table, mantle, built-in, etc., but I’m looking forward to picking up some knobby, gray, pink, blue, and crazily misshapen pumpkins for our front porch, entryway, and throughout the house. (I’m particularly craving a bunch of mini pumpkins in a bowl on our island!) Pumpkins scream fall and they make your decor come alive effortlessly.

Hope you’re having a great week! Back to house updates soon!
