This is one of everyone’s least favorite subjects in general, but especially for deep cleaning: the bathroom. I get it – it sees a lot of action every day with showers, baths, tooth brushing, primping, and being prepped for guests at all times, and it’s difficult to keep everything spa-worthy at all times. But this is one of the most gratifying topics of spring cleaning and it doesn’t have to be one that you dread, promise! Take a look at my list below for getting a deep clean that doesn’t take much to maintain throughout the year.

  • Remove everything from each countertop and disinfect the countertop thoroughly
  • Remove all linens from the bathroom; wash and replace as appropriate
  • Thoroughly clean each mirror
  • Thoroughly clean the light fixtures in the bathroom and replace any bulbs
  • Clean and disinfect everything that sits out on your countertops (toothbrushes, makeup, styling products, etc.) and replace
  • Stock up on toilet paper and place in bathroom(s) as needed
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect your toilet, shower, bath, and sinks
  • Check each knob, nozzle, and moving part to make sure everything is functioning as efficiently as possible; if something is awry, replace or make a service call to fix it
  • Replace any linens that are ratty, stained, or otherwise worn out
  • Repair any cosmetic features (such as chipped grout, cracked tile, or caulking that is pulling away) to give your bathroom fixtures longevity
  • Remove everything from each drawer and cabinet, discarding outdated, old, or unused products as you go
  • Purchase any products you use frequently to create a stockpile
  • Pick up a few guest-friendly toiletries (basic soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, etc.) to keep in your guest bath at all times
  • Stock up on a few candles / linen sprays to keep your bathroom fresh after you’ve cleaned it
  • Purchase a few cleaning supplies to make weekly maintenance easier

Hope this list makes your deep clean a little easier!
