GET INSPIRED: ADD THESE TO YOUR WORK WEEK

If you’re dreading getting ready for your work week, I’ve got some good news for you: today’s post is all about getting (and staying!) inspired this week while you’re in the office. If you’re like most folks, you love your work, but there are mundane pieces of it (can’t shake that conference call? Hate bringing leftovers every day for lunch?) that can zap the inspiration and fun right out of your day.

But thankfully, there’s the internet, and I don’t mean that entirely sarcastically. The World Wide Web is responsible for so much more than a hilarious cat video or chortle-worthy Vine; it’s host to a number of amazing resources that provide inspiration in the form of food, fun, and functioning above average at work. Here are some of my favorites to get your week started on the right foot!

REAL SIMPLE

Guys, confession: I am truly, madly, deeply in love with Real Simple magazine. I don’t miss a single issue and it’s one of the few that I want to read cover-to-cover each month. But if you’re not a magazine-toting type (why not try it sometime?), head over to Real Simple‘s site for recipes, organization ideas, articles, stories, and so much more. Seriously, go check them out!

THE MUSE

This one’s for all my working girls and guys. Sign up for The Muse’s daily emails to liven up your inbox, or scroll through the numerous articles that couldn’t be more helpful to a millennial lady or lad learning how to make her / his place in the world. The articles are succinct, cheerful, and pointed, and you’ll love to peruse the jobs listing if you’re on the hunt for something new. Go check it out!

BRIT & CO.

I reference Brit & Co. so often because I’m continuously inspired by their posts, stories, photos, videos, classes, and more. Run by complete #girlbosses, Brit & Co. is perfect for learning new skills painlessly and adding a pop of cheer to your Instagram. Even if you’re not crafty, they’re a great choice to motivate you to do more for yourself (such as, say, make your own napkin rings or decorate some mugs to your taste?). You’ll love their site – head on over!

WHAT’S UP MOMS

Another confession: I’m not a mom. But I freakin’ love What’s Up Moms’ site and YouTube channel for hilarious real-life inspiration in mom form. Whether you peruse videos of babies’ welcome to the world, gender reveal, or pregnancy announcements (SO CUTE) or you’re just heading over for a laugh, you won’t be sorry you did – so go on!

SWEET AMBS

This is my inspiration wild card: Sweet Ambs cookie decorating. If you’ve been on social media for more than five minutes, you’ve probably seen her videos – gorgeous shots of metallic icing, perfectly-baked cookies, and a delectable dessert fit for royalty. I love to explore her videos on Instagram when I’m taking a walking break around my office because they’re so greatly detailed, beautiful, and relaxing to watch. Whether you’re a pastry connoisseur or just mildly interested in take-and-bakes, you’ll enjoy taking a few seconds to watch a cameo cookie get made from scratch. Take a look!

I hope you enjoy the last few hours of the weekend and I hope you have a wonderful Monday!
